Biography

I’m Emily (she/her). I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) offering individual in-person and virtual psychotherapy for youth and adults. My therapeutic approach is rooted in a relational perspective, and I integrate experiential, phenomenological, person-centered, and arts-based methods into my sessions. I have a deep appreciation for imagination, creativity, and playfulness, and I value culturally aware, anti-oppressive, anti-racist, 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming, and trauma-informed care. I’m a multi-modal artist and musician, and I incorporate visual arts, movement, writing, piano, guitar, and voice work into my own personal studio work. I’m a white, queer, bisexual, settler and I practice in Tkaranto/Toronto, part of Treaty 13, and the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples. I have a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy from OISE at the University of Toronto and I have a diploma in Expressive Arts Therapy from the CREATE Institute. During my 5 years of training, I gained practicum experience at the University of Toronto Mississauga Career Centre, Queer Art Therapy’s Getting Bi+ program, the Create Clinic, North York Women’s Shelter, The Gatehouse, Full Circle Art Therapy Centre, L’Arche Toronto, Purple Carrots Drama Studio, and Rhythmic by Nature. I’m currently serving my first term as a board member on the Ontario Expressive Arts Therapy Association.
