Erin O’Neill
EXA, Movement ArtistBiography
Hi, my name is Erin (she/her), Expressive Arts Practitioner, Movement Artist, Community Arts Facilitator and Career Coach. I have also completed my 200 Hour Hatha Yoga Teacher certification, Restorative Yoga certification, and I have an educational background in Environmental Studies and Political Science. I am currently in the process of completing my Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma, and my personal focus is on Resilience and Compassion.
As a Community Arts Facilitator, I utilize a (w)holistic, interdisciplinary lens and I offer people a supportive and warm space to be seen/heard, and to create in. I believe that all people are inherently worthy simply by existing, and that kindness, connection and creative self expression can facilitate experiences that are healing in nature, which is often a deeply personal and individualized process. I welcome a non-judgemental and playful approach in both my own art practice as well as when I am working with others in a variety of professional ways.
As an artist, I focus on the beauty of movement and the creative expression of the sensations of emotion through my body-mind. In doing so, I seek to create internal spaciousness and a sense of (re)solution to my experiences that are both individual, as well as collective/communal in nature. I welcome curiosity on my canvas as I explore sensation through dance, writing, poetry making and abstract painting. I love to create meaningful expressions of my ever deepening experience of authenticity.
In my professional practice, I seek to be a warm and open presence for others, and to empower and inspire clients to discover their own sense of resilience and creativity.
