Heidi McCurdy
Expressive Arts Therapist, Sound Healer & Voice Coach Harmony Expressive ArtsFounderBiography
Heidi McCurdy, BFA, EXaT, MEd
I believe that Music is a beautiful, powerful way to heal our hearts and connect more deeply with ourselves, each other, and the Earth. As a singer, songwriter, sound healer, voice coach and Expressive Arts Therapist, I love to guide others to empower their authentic voice and free their expression. My programs draw from the worlds of intermodal expressive arts, vocal improvisation and circle singing, sound healing, holistic vocal pedagogy, ecospirituality, mindfulness and community music models.
Areas of specialty include vocal, musical and intermodal arts expression for:
* freeing your authentic voice, singing for self-care & community building
* ADHD (reducing stress, anxiety and overwhelm, developing emotional balance, and enhancing executive function), adult & child/youth
* supporting neurodivergence & giftedness
* stress management & nervous system regulation
* emotional regulation & balance
* creative communion with the natural world (eco-therapy)
* sound healing techniques and professional development
Through my private practice, I offer private sessions, group programs and workshops, in person and online. I have also served as faculty for Langara College (teaching Voice and Music-based Expressive Arts Therapy), the BC Play Therapy Association, Learning Through the Arts (RCM), Surrey School District, the City of White Rock, the Sarah McLachlan School of Music, Songroots Retreat and Naramata Centre. OEATA Board Member since November, 2023. http://www.heidimccurdy.com
