Biography

 

I am an Expressive Arts Therapist, Arts Educator and Facilitator, I work with people of all ages, backgrounds, and capability, meeting my clients where they are at, individually or in-groups, building supportive frameworks that extend outward into community. I combine expressive arts therapy with my theatrical expertise and community engagement to create and support unique art making and story creations, in all its various shapes and sizes. Using principles of creative play as a major relational component. I believe passionately in the arts as a way to respond to human suffering and joy, and that the arts can facilitate personal & social change. I live in this truth, staying relevant, responsive, and transformative in all my creative endeavors.

Areas of expertise & experience:
Learning and developmental challenges: Dyslexia, ADHD, autism, self-esteem, anxiety, mental health, depression, trauma & PTSD. Also experience working with seniors in varying degrees of Alzheimer’s/Dementia and in Palliative Care.

Arts Practice:
Visual arts, 3D installation and sculpture, body adornment, movement, music, and creative play in rich collaborative creation. Adapting mediums and approaches as need be, sensitive to individuals with compromised mobility, vision and or auditory abilities. “Together we find new ways to create and define self-expression!”
