Virginia Jahyu (she/her/她) is an artist, intersectional hood-feminist, transformative justice facilitator, and expressive arts therapist with a strong interest in rhythmic poetry, arts empowerment, community building, and social justice tuning in from Tkaronto, Treaty 13. She is inspired by liberation healing and is invested in deeper understanding(s) of colonial impacts on mental health and identity.  She values the intersectionalities and breadth of human identities, dis/abilities, experience, and creative expressions.

Virginia is one of the founding therapists of the Trauma to Trust Clinic (2018) offered by Vita Community Living Services in Toronto serving adults living with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and dual-diagnosis. She continues to offer virtual expressive arts therapy in private practice, primarily serving racialized and marginalized individuals. Additionally, Virginia is a faculty member of the WHEAT Institute and proudly serves as the Vice President of OEATA.

Her work is centred around relationships and using the arts and dialogue for positive change and transformation.

Virginia’s passion for the arts, accessibility, and equity continues to guide her work.
