Biography

Yan Sin Wong Fani, RQ(Q), Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT – IEATA), experienced music educator, with demonstrated history of working in the health wellness and education industry, and background of Master of Expressive Arts Therapy, Master of Music Education, and Postgraduate Diploma of Music Therapy. She has been working in an elderly nursing home in Hong Kong as full time Expressive Arts Therapist for 5 years, and now as a full time student studying Gerontology Graduate Programme in Fanshawe College (Toronto).

Apart from strength in music, Fani also use multi-arts modalities including Visual Arts, Movement, Storytelling & Creative Writing in session, specifically dealing with Dementia patient, cognitive training, emotional problem & spiritual care, aiming at raising client’s Quality of Life.

Starting from 2014, She has used “Yanki(殷琦)” as a pen name to write online articles, which can be found in multiple Hong Kong Online Media, with diverse themes including political, religious, social, psychology, entertainment and expressive arts therapy. She has also got publishing experience with two books about Christianity, and a book discuss on the Hong Kong Elderly Service in mid-2021. In the same year, she has also done a pilot study about How Mandala Colouring Therapy serves for Stress Reduction and Mood Improvement in Hong Kong Long Term Care Setting in Covid-19 Period; and the article has been published in the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association (IEATA) Newsletter Issue № 6.
