Expressive Arts in the Heart of Indigenous Black Afrika: Linking Ancestral Wisdom for Peace and Social Justice

Karibu Kenya (Welcome to Kenya)! The International Expressive Arts Therapy Association®️ (IEATA®️) hosts its 17th International Conference, Expressive Arts in the Heart of Indigenous Black Afrika: Linking Ancestral Wisdom for Peace and Social Justice, in Nairobi, Kenya, the cradle of humanity. IEATA welcomes Expressive Arts practitioners, artists from the African Diaspora, and Indigenous peoples from across all continents, to share in critical dialogue, arts making and creative exchange with Indigenous Black Afrikan communities. In the spirit of accessibility and belonging, we will sing, dance and tell stories. Are you a healer-artist, Elder, Knowledge Carrier, or community change-maker, who wants to contribute to the intersectional global scholarship of expressive arts? Through expressive arts practices and cultural immersion, we will honor ancient knowledge while co-creating pathways toward a more compassionate and just future.
